Waldo Middle School, Washington Elementary School and Miller Elementary School received a helping hand from members of the Willamette University football team on August 18, 2012.

Team members helped weed the community garden and mow and trim the courtyards at Waldo, scrubbed picnic tables and helped build a green house at Washington, and spread rubber chips and picked up litter on the Miller playground.

HandsOn Willamette, the volunteer action center for Benton, Linn, Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties, coordinated the participation of the Willamette University football team. About 40 players participated. The Salem Keizer Education Foundation coordinated the projects and on-site efforts.
