Read the interview below for more information about Ron Jones.
What is your position responsible for?
“I presently serve as vice chairperson. I fill in for the chair, Steve Chambers, when he is unavailable. I also participate in setting and approving the board agenda. I represent the voting public, district staff, and students when conducting district business and setting district policy.”
What are your goals in regard to student achievement?
“My goal is to represent the district in administrating the goals of the successful bond measure. I believe we can reduce class size by building new schools, and thus improve student achievment. Another goal I have is to complete deferred maintenance projects identified in the measure and continue the board's resolve to conduct the district business in an open transparent manner.”
What do you like to hear from staff and the community?
“I am open to any question or concern from district staff and the public. I will always try to provide a response to any question or concern, even if it is just directing them to the appropriate resource.”
What else do you want people to know?
“I want to remind people that the board acts as one, and no member alone may act individually when conducting district business.”
