Wells Fargo is using most of its 220 ATMs in Oregon to honor the state's Teacher of the Year, Michael Lampert, who teaches physics at West Salem High School.

Those using a Wells Fargo ATM between now and Oct. 5 can learn more about Lampert's accomplishments. By simply pressing a button on the ATM screen, they can discover just a few of the reasons why he is this year's honoree.

"At Wells Fargo we're committed to the communities we serve and we're proud to feature Michael Lampert," said Don Pearson, regional president for Wells Fargo in Oregon. "Teachers are so important to our community, this is one way we can recognize and honor one of our state's best."

The Oregon Department of Education named Lampert its 2008-09 Teacher of the Year last October. This is the third year that Wells Fargo has used its ATM screens to honor Oregon's winning teacher.

During his 20 years of teaching, Lampert has written curriculum for PBS and Wired Science. His students have won first-place medals in national science and robotic competitions across the nation. He has also been honored by Disney, USA Today and the National Science Foundation.
