Dr. Sandy Husk is the Superintendent of Salem-Keizer Public Schools. Before moving to Oregon in 2006, she was the Superintendent of Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools in Clarksville, Tennessee from 2001 to 2006, and Superintendent of Mapleton Public Schools in Adams County, Colorado from 1996 to 2001.

Sandy Husk has a Ph.D. in Administration, Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Colorado, Denver; an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Colorado, Boulder; a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Georgia, Athens. Her postdoctoral study includes work at Columbia and Harvard universities.
I am focused on a process of continuous improvement in our school district by implementing a strategic plan designed to promote quality assurance. I am trying to bring best practices from the business world to our school district and to use them for the benefit of our students. My efforts are all geared toward putting into practice the things that will ultimately provide better service for our kids.
