Student teaching is the capstone experience to any teacher preparation program. Salem-Keizer Public Schools provides student teachers with the opportunity to implement many of the strategies and techniques they learn about in their professional course work.

Cooperating teachers and the school administrators are key figures in making student teachers feel welcome to our schools. The student teachers in Salem-Keizer Public Schools are cordially welcomed at their placement sites, enhancing their feeling of being accepted as a member of the professional staff.

Salem-Keizer Public Schools' intention is to create a mutually positive experience for student teachers an schools. Our district has an extensive pool of cooperating teachers; the experience provided and the time and effort devoted by these educators are critical to the success of the student teacher.

All student teaching placements and field experiences are made through the Salem-Keizer Public Schools Student Teacher Coordinator and the Human Resources Department.
