Student places 2nd in illustrated haiku contest
Chapman Hill Elementary second-grade student Evelyn Hoppe won second place in the national American Chemical Society* Illustrated Haiku contest. The contest was part of the non-profit organization's "Chemists Celebrate Earth Day" program.

Her haiku and painting were submitted in the "Earth – The Sky's the Limit" contest.
The Breeze
Turbines spinning fast
Trees swaying in the calm breeze
Blowing with the wind
She will be awarded a prize of $100 for her winning art. Congratulations Evelyn!
