The National School Public Relations Association has awarded a 2009 NSPRA Gold Medallion to Jay Remy, director of Community Relations and Communications, and his staff (Katie Wallace was unable to attend and is not pictured). Judges selected winners from a field of exemplary public relations programs throughout the United States. The award was for our construction bond information campaign focused on providing information to our community so they could make an informed decision about our request to address school overcrowding and deferred maintenance issues.
As a sign of the times, staff embraced new technology by using Twitter and Facebook, and other non-traditional communication tools to drive the public (and staff) to our Web site for their informational needs.
The NSPRA Gold Medallion Award program is the only national awards competition that specifically recognizes comprehensive, strategic school public relations programs. Congratulations to Jay and his staff on your award for the informational campaign.
