Professional Development

The Professional Development team is committed to the acquisition and sharing of knowledge among all members of Salem-Keizer Public Schools. We are dedicated to accessing the needs and offering a wide variety of training opportunities throughout the district.
Our team is devoted to:
• improving learning and skills in order to facilitate district-wide improvement for the ultimate purpose of increasing our student achievement.
• creating professional development opportunities based on defined needs and evaluations.
• developing and providing a high quality professional development occasions for all staff members.
• maintaining a centralized calendaring system to register, attend, and evaluate training sessions.
• offering paraprofessional courses to meet the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act requirements.
• establishing and continually increasing a library of resource materials.
• monitoring and disbursing tuition reimbursements for employees.
• partnering with local area colleges and both association groups to expand opportunities.
