The goal of the Prevention and Protection office is to promote a safe environment within the Salem-Keizer School District for all students, staff and volunteers.

• Annual training for all staff on the prevention, identification and reporting of suspected child abuse and sexual harassment.
• Training for parents and community members on the prevention of child sexual abuse and Internet safety.
• Fingerprinting for new employees.
• Criminal history checks for volunteers and employees.
• Promoting an environment free from hazing, harassment, intimidation, bullying, cyberbullying and menacing.
• Acceptable use of the district computers, networks, email and Internet connection.
