If you have a child that will be five-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2010 then you are encouraged to get your child registered for kindergarten.

All Salem-Keizer elementary schools will be holding a special registration on March 18 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.in the evening to allow for kindergarten-age children to register for the 2010–11 school year.

If you cannot attend the March 18 registration, you may register your child at your neighborhood school anytime after March 18 during regular school hours. If you are not sure which school is in your neighborhood area check online using the Salem-Keizer School Finder. You may call the boundary information line at 503-399-3246.

In order to register a child for kindergarten, parents will need to provide legal proof of their child's age (preferable a birth certificate) and an updated record of their child's immunizations.

El 18 de marzo comienza la reunión del Kindergarten

Si tiene un hijo/a que cumplirá cinco años antes o el 1 de septiembre del 2010, le animamos a que lo matricule para el Kindergarten.  Todas las escuelas elementales de Salem-Keizer estarán llevando a cabo una noche especial para matriculación el 18 de marzo de 8 a.m. a 8 p.m., para permitir a los niños con edad para el Kindergarten que se matriculen para el año escolar 2010-11.  Ésta es una oportunidad para matricularlos y recibir también información en cuanto a los programas bilingües del distrito.  Si usted no puede asistir a la matriculación del 18 de marzo, usted puede matricular a su hijo/a en la escuela de su vecindario en cualquier momento durante las horas regulares de escuela después del 18 de marzo.  Si no está seguro de que escuela está en su área del vecindario, usted puede llamar a la línea de información de las fronteras al 503-399-3246.

A fin de matricular niños para el Kindergarten, los padres necesitarán proveer prueba legal de la edad de su hijo/a  (el acta de nacimiento de preferencia) y un registro actualizado de las vacunas de su hijo/a.
