No Child Left Behind
On January 8, 2002, President George W. Bush signed into law the "No Child Left Behind" (NCLB) Act of 2001. This Act was a revision of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the key federal law for K-12 education.
No Child Left Behind Act set into place new requirements for public schools that include more accountability and higher goals for student achievement. These requirements impact every public school in the nation, including schools in Salem and Keizer.
