Information about free tutoring - deadline to sign up Oct 30
Salem-Keizer Public Schools will hold Parent-Provider Nights at the dates and times listed below. The events will showcase the services of 14 companies approved by the Oregon Department of Education for providing Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to students of Salem-Keizer Public Schools. SES or tutoring is provided free of charge to eligible students attending Title I schools in improvement status under the No Child Left Behind Act.
Salem-Keizer Public Schools Title I schools in improvement status include: Washington Elementary, Claggett Creek, Houck, Parrish, Stephens and Waldo Middle Schools as well as McKay High School. If the student is eligible, he or she will receive up to $1639 in free supplemental instruction beyond the classroom day. Parents will be able to learn more about the services offered from providers on the attached list.
Parent-Provider Nights will be located at:
- Tuesday, September 29, 2009, McNary High School at 595 Chemawa Road, N.
- Wednesday, September 30, 2009, North Salem High School at 765 14th Street, NE
- Thursday, October 1, 2009, McKay High School at 2440 Lancaster Drive, NE
The deadline for sign-up will be October 30, 2009. A second window will be offered in January.
