District Response to Influenza
District Response to Influenza
We are taking our direction from the Oregon Public Health Division and county health department because they establish the protocols for dealing with all communicable diseases.
They have asked us to urge people to use "universal precautions"--wash hands frequently, cover your cough, stay home if you are sick, etc...
If a child at school has repiratory symptoms and a fever or suspected fever, their parents should take them to the doctor. Our district will consult with the family, the doctor and the health department to see if a communicable disease is suspected.
If a case is suspected or confirmed, the Oregon Public Health Division and county health department will give us directions.
Please refer flu-related questions to the County Health Department.
Bus drivers compete on Saturday; Gubser Career Day; BYKTW Day 2009
Salem-Keizer bus drivers will compete in the regional School Bus Safety Exercise this Saturday (May 2)
Go cheer them on and check out their exceptional skills behind the wheel.
The event is at Keizer Volcanoes Stadium from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Public is welcomed to attend. Winners from the state events in each category may proceed to the National School Transportation Association School Bus Driver International Safety Competition being held in Greensboro, NC in July.
Financial resources to pay for these events are generated by a combination of private fund raisers and OPTA funds.
This is a great chance to see your school bus drivers from around the region demonstrate their professionalism and skills in driving the buses that bring our children to school each day.
