EZ Orchards Market
School Partner: Yoshikai Elementary
EZ Orchards plays a big part in the everyday life of students and staff at Hazel Green and Yoshikai elementary schools in many ways. John Zielinski in particular makes it a priority to visit on a regular basis where he catches up on all the happenings in the classrooms. More often than not he will bring treats with him from the orchards or farm market either for entire classrooms or all the staff, ranging from delicious apples to shortcakes!
There have been several classroom projects that EZ Orchards has lent a hand with. When classes studied the Lewis and Clark expedition, they supplied teachers with display materials relating to the subject. Another time students each made a model covered wagon. Small wooden fruit crates were perfect for this project and we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful business partner. EZ Orchards also displays student work at the market each month.
Fourth and fifth graders get to spend an afternoon at EZ Orchards job shadowing. All students come back with a huge appreciation for the hard work involved in the business. They also come back with donuts that they made for the classroom!
A favorite field trip is the trip to the EZ Orchards Pumpkin Patch in October. Most students would probably agree that the best part of this trip is the way they get there. Long hay wagons line up in front of the school and travel through the orchards to bring the students to the pumpkin patch.
EZ Orchards’ interest, dedication and generosity are thoroughly appreciated by the students and staff at Hazel Green and Yoshikai elementary schools!
