The Citizen Bond Oversight Committee is a subcommittee of the School Board. The Oversight Committee monitors the planning and progress of bond projects to ensure that they are finished on-time and within budget and meet the expectations of the voter-approved construction bond program.
The Citizen Bond Oversight Committee is responsible for the following focus areas:
- Review of bond management plans and bond project progress reports.
- Communications on key information related to the bond with the School Board, public groups, organizations, and networks.
- Accountability on bond-related issues, on behalf of the Salem-Keizer community, to assure bond projects are finished on-time and within the promised scope and budget.
- Review, input, and involvement in certain design related functions, such as development of educational specifications, site design teams and design charrettes, school naming process, and boundary change process.
The committee includes about 15 internal and external stakeholders in addition to two board members and five district-level administrators and support staff. The committee will meet regularly until completion of the bond projects.
