Citizen Bond Oversight Committee

Committee to ensure projects are done on-time and within budget and scope.

The Citizen Bond Oversight Committee is a subcommittee of the School Board.  The Oversight Committee monitors the planning and progress of bond projects to ensure that they are finished on-time and within budget and meet the expectations of the voter-approved construction bond program.

The Citizen Bond Oversight Committee is responsible for the following focus areas:

  1. Review of bond management plans and bond project progress reports.
  2. Communications on key information related to the bond with the School Board, public groups, organizations, and networks.
  3. Accountability on bond-related issues, on behalf of the Salem-Keizer community, to assure bond projects are finished on-time and within the promised scope and budget.
  4. Review, input, and involvement in certain design related functions, such as development of educational specifications, site design teams and design charrettes, and the school naming process.

The committee includes 20 internal and external stakeholders in addition to three board members and five district-level administrators and support staff. The committee will meet quarterly until completion of the bond projects.
