Are you interested in seeing where our school district is headed? Do you have some questions for Superintendent Sandy Husk? If so, then plan on coming to our fourth annual School Talk Summit!
Wednesday, October 21 is your chance to meet Sandy Husk, find out what’s going on in our schools, and provide your thoughts and feedback on education.
“The School Talk Summit is one of the most powerful events that the district puts on,” said School Board Director Krina Lemons. “It provides a way for people to access the district, see where we are at, and provide helpful feedback.”
The School Talk Summit will be held at McNary High School. It begins at 6 p.m. and should conclude by 8:00 p.m. Child care services will be provided.
Husk will start the event with her State of the District presentation, sharing with the audience plans for the current school year. Following her presentation is an interactive session where the audience is asked a series of questions and uses clicker remotes to provide live, anonymous feedback.
“We want to learn more about what our community wants and needs from us in order to provide high-quality educational services,” said Husk.
The final part of the program will feature an open mike session. This is a time for questions and answers. All are encouraged to get involved and to ask questions, answered by Superintendent Husk.
“Salem-Keizer residents care deeply about their children and education,” said Husk. “We will listen to each other and work together to ensure our students are successful.”
Save the date, invite your friends, and come prepared to get involved.
