West shred day a success

West Salem High School's Green Team Recycling Club held a free paper shredding day and electronics recycling community event May 16, 2009, partnering with Roth's and Garten Services.

This event brought in totaled 5,100 pounds of shred and 7,485 pounds of e-recycling. All plastics from the e-recycling will be made into children's toys and the shredded paper will make new paper products. The event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and filled up a semi truck. A total of 11 students and four adults worked at the event.
